EBB (Emergency Broadband Benefit) FAQ

Update: The Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program will stop accepting new enrollments at 6 p.m. EST on December 30, 2021. Households enrolled in the EBB program as of 6 p.m. EST on December 30, 2021, will continue to receive the benefit during a 60-day transition period to ACP. When the bill cycle renews on or after March 1, the benefit will change from up to $50 to up to $30 if customers remain eligible for the program. EBB enrolled customers may switch service offerings at any time. Additional information will be provided to customers enrolled in the EBB program if any steps are required to receive the ACP benefit of up to $30 a month (up to $75 on qualifying Tribal lands) after March 1, 2022. If you have any questions, please visit fcc.gov/broadbandbenefit.

Starting December 31, 2021, EBB will be replaced by the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which is a long-term federal program that will provide eligible households up to a $30 benefit on eligible broadband service. Eligible households who live on federally recognized Tribal Lands will get up to a $75 benefit on their eligible broadband service through ACP. Eligibility for the ACP benefit is determined by applying to the federal government's National Verifier. Eligibility criteria for ACP has been modified. The ACP effective start date is December 31, 2021. Eligible customers may begin enrolling in ACP with Cricket Wireless on January 7, 2022.

The Emergency Broadband benefit is a temporary federal program that lowers the monthly cost of broadband service to eligible households during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Eligible households will get up to a $50 benefit on their eligible mobile broadband service. Eligible households who live on federally recognized Tribal Lands will get up to a $75 benefit on their eligible mobile broadband service. Only one Emergency Broadband Benefit per household, not per person, is allowed. The benefit can be used on eligible mobile broadband service. See below for a list of frequently asked questions:
